THE LIGHTBULB MOMENT

When we moved to Queensland just over 5 years ago I was lucky and acclimatised super quick. I've always loved the warmth so naturally I knew I'd love the climate in Aussie. In just a few short months I had developed a true dislike of the cold and 3 years later when we moved to Western Australia it was no different. Everyone kept telling me to "wait for summer" because I'd find it hot (mid to high 30's everyday) but it came and went and I just basked in all the beautiful warmth. Every trip back to NZ my aversion to the cold was worse and worse. My loved ones kept calling me a wuss but then, the lightbulb moment happened! A couple of weeks ago, we found the cause of a large portion of my health issues and possibility a contributing factor for my recurrent miscarriages... I have Hypothyroidism. The main symptoms are; Random Weight Gain - check Dry Skin - check Hair Loss - check Aversion to cold Temperatures - check Recurrent Miscarriage - check And a whole heap more! I'm now on medication to balance the hormones and hopefully in 4-6 weeks I'll start to see some improvement. Going forward, the specialist has concluded my biggest fertility issue is my uterine situation. The plan is to get my hormones balanced and then I will undergo 2 massive operations to surgically reconstruct my uterus to hopefully create one perfect, healthy, baby-ready Uterus. Unfortunately this means it's going to be a while before we can start trying to fall pregnant again. However long it takes, I'm determined. I will be a mum.
